COVID 19

Our highest priority is the health and safety of our patients and the team. Our team members continue to closely monitor and adhere to all protocols and guidelines established by local and state health departments, as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. We understand that healthcare has changed, and would like to take the opportunity to inform you of the extra precautionary steps we’re taking to prevent the spread of COVID-19:

CDC guidelines

It starts with a screening process following the CDC guidelines. At check-in, during patient screening we look for key symptoms associated with COVID including:

Fever (100.4/F/38C)
Cough
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Repeated shaking with chills
Chills
Headache
Myalgia (muscle pain)
New loss of taste or smell
Sore throat

Restrictions In Place

In addition, we have restrictions in place for our waiting area in regard to caregivers, family members, or friends accompanying someone scheduled for a surgical procedure. They include:

Only one person to accompany patients on the day of the procedure. We ask that patients with more than 1 accompanying family/friends plan to wait in their vehicle or elsewhere. They will be contacted before patient is ready for discharge.
All staff at Heart of San Diego Surgical Center must wear personal protective equipment for airborne pathogens including:
Facemask
Scrubs & Gowns
Gloves
Face Shields
Eye Protection
Head Coverings
